MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are very similar platforms, with just a few key differences. MT5 is not actually an upgrade of MT4, but a slightly different platform designed primarily for CFD, stock and futures traders, while MT4 is commonly used by Forex EA programmers and developers.
MT4 is a simpler and best suited to Forex trading and Forex robots programming, while MT5 offers more features but takes a longer to get used to.
MT5 is also better suited to anyone trading CFDs, stocks, or futures.
MQL4 and MQL5 programming languages are very similar with only minor differences in the way orders and positions are handled. However, if you make use of custom MetaTrader programming services, it is important to specify explicitly which version of MetaTrader you want to use. Nordman Algorithms’ MQL programming team is highly experienced with both MQL4 and MQL5 and provide EA and Indicator coding services of the best quality across the domain.
