NinjaTrader MACD + EMA Indicator is a trading system that leverages the combined usage of the MACD and EMA indicators, each with its unique functionality, making them a valuable combination for market analysis. The indicators have been recognized by traders for their effectiveness in helping them make informed decisions about entering trades and confirming signals.

The MACD indicator is employed to assess the strength and direction of a trend, as well as to identify potential reversal points. It is most effective in markets with a wide range of fluctuations. How to trade using MACD + EMA Indicator?

The indicator includes two modes of trading strategies: Classic and Advanced.

Classic Strategy

It is a classic version of the MACD + EMA trading strategy.

BUY

• The intersection of the main and signal MACD lines below the zero line.
• MACD histogram above zero.
• Price above EMA line.

SELL

• The intersection of the main and signal MACD lines above the zero line.
• MACD histogram below zero.
• Price below EMA line.

Advanced Strategy

It is an extended version of the classic MACD + EMA trading strategy with additional conditions for the occurrence of signals.

BUY

• Intersection of the main and signal lines MACD.
• MACD histogram above zero.
• Price above EMA line.
• The fast moving average is above the slow moving average (displayed on the chart).

SELL

• Intersection of the main and signal lines MACD.
• MACD histogram below zero.
• Price below EMA line.
• The fast moving average is below the slow moving average (displayed on the chart).

MACD + EMA Indicator input parameters

The indicator has the following parameters:

Alerts – setting up various types of alerts.

Strategy Type – switching strategy modes Classic / Advanced.

MACD – setting up key MACD parameters.

Moving Average – setting the type and period of the moving average.

Enable Moving Averages – this parameter allows you to make the display of indicator lines more visual for interpreting analytical data. Green EMA line – the price is above the EMA line, red line – the price is below the EMA line. Green color of moving averages is a buy zone, red color is a sell zone, blue color is a neutral zone.
